The Solidarity Shield is another support to ensure that large families and persons with disabilities do not suffer the negative effects of a rise in energy prices - points out the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

The amendment addresses the needs of foster families and is aimed at protecting the best interest of children who are deprived of care by biological parents. These are long-awaited changes. I am glad that the amendment has been adopted by the Sejm – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

Nearly PLN 2.8 billion as part of family care capital and more than PLN 200 million as part of co-financing for a child’s stay in a nursery, children’s club or day-care provider have been provided to families since the moment of launching new support tools. – For many young parents, this is a great relief and for some an opportunity to return to work – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

As from 1 January 2023, the minimum salary is to increase to PLN 3,490, and as from 1 July – to PLN 3,600. The Council of Ministers adopted a regulation on this matter. This is more than the previous proposal suggested. – As the government responsible for financial security of Poles, we are responding to inflation caused by Russian aggression against Ukraine – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

“Inflation is caused by the war in Ukraine, and Poland is also severely affected by the results of the sanctions imposed on Russia. Nevertheless, as Poles, we pass the test of humanity and solidarity” – said the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg during a panel on social policy in the era of inflation, organised by the Ministry of Family and Social Policy.

In August, the registered unemployment rate reached 4.9% – as it results from the Ministry of Family and Social Policy’s preliminary data. When compared to the previous month, the number of unemployed persons in August decreased by 2.1 thousand.

The Sejm passed the act on the financial support for entrepreneurs from the Odra region. Odra companies, whose revenues fell by at least 50%, will be able to apply for the one-off benefit amounting to PLN 3,010 for each insured employee.

In July, the unemployment rate in Poland amounted to 2.6%. As provided by Eurostat, it is lower than the value in July 2021 (3.3%). This result confirms that the situation in the labour market in Poland is stable. Only in the Czech Republic, is the level of unemployment lower than in Poland – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

The government has prepared solutions to support entrepreneurs from the Odra region. – We have urgently prepared solutions regarding the payment of a one-off cash benefit in the amount of PLN 3,010 per employee – informs the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg. The Sejm will deal with the draft act as early as on 2 September.

Employment in Poland in July increased by 2.3% year on year – informed the Statistics Poland. In turn, the average remuneration in the enterprise sector in July increased by 15.8%. – The good situation in the labour market in Poland is also confirmed by Eurostat, according to which the level of employment in our country is one of the highest in history – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.
