On Tuesday, 7 December, the call for applications in the open competition in the multi-annual Senior+ programme for 2022 was started. I invite local government units at the municipal, district and voivodeship levels to participate in the competition. In the new edition of the competition, PLN 60 million is available to be taken – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

At the end of November, the registered unemployment rate amounted to 5.4% - as estimated by the Ministry of Family and Social Policy. The registers of labour offices contained slightly more than 900 thousand people, by more than 125 thousand fewer than the year before. The situation in the labour market is better than before the pandemic.

The support of personal assistants in daily activities but also in the participation in social or cultural life is very important for persons with disabilities. It is a chance to live a fuller, more independent life. – We realise how important this support is, that is why next year we will allocate much larger funds for this purpose, PLN 610 million in total – informs the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

October was another good month for the labour market in Poland. According to the Eurostat data, Poland is still in the lead of the European Union with the lowest unemployment rate. We come off much better off than the EU average.

Soon, many Polish parents will receive a completely new benefit – Family Care Capital. It is even up to PLN 12 thousand for the second and subsequent children, aged between 12 and 36 months – regardless of income. President Andrzej Duda signed the Act on this matter. The solution will enter into force on 1 January 2022.

The first of December is an exceptional day on which we can summarise the government’s senior policy. Today, we are finishing the payment of another support for seniors – the fourteenth pension. This is an additional amount of PLN 11 billion for Polish old age and disability pensioners – said the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg at the press briefing. On Wednesday, a debate was held at the Ministry of Family, summarising the senior policy of the Law and Justice government.

The Polish labour market recovered from the losses of employment caused by the coronavirus pandemic crisis. According to the Eurostat data, in the third quarter of this year, there were 377 thousand more people working than the year before. The situation is also better than in the same period of 2019, i.e. even before the pandemic.

This year’s celebration of the Day of the Social Worker in Lusławice and Brzesko in the Małopolskie Voivodeship was held with the participation of the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg. – I know you are aware of your role and the difficulties you have to cope with. You are a community of people with a mission who help those who are most needy – said Minister Maląg.

Good news comes from the labour market. According to the Statistics Poland data, in October the unemployment rate in Poland was 5.5%. In September, it was 5.6%. – The Statistics Poland thus confirmed the previous estimates of our ministry. We are glad about these reports, which show that the situation is stable – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

Almost three quarters of working parents admit that their employer created the right conditions for them to combine work and family life and more than half say that the family-oriented policy is important for their employer. These are the findings of the Kantar study for the Ministry of Family and Social Policy. Strengthening families, pursuing the effective family-oriented policy cannot be complete without the participation of employers – as the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg, comments on the study results.
