    ‘We have decided to build a permanent barrier along the Polish-Belarusian border. The experience of other countries affected by the migrant crisis shows that this is the only effective method’, said Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński. On Thursday (7 October), an away meeting of the National Security and Defence Affairs Committee was held, which focussed on the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border.

    Today (6th October), Deputy Minister Bartosz Grodecki met with Olivier Onidi, Deputy Director-General at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs. The meeting concerned the situation at the EU's external border with Belarus. At the same time, an expert meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration and the European Commission.

    Today (4 October), Deputy Minister Bartosz Grodecki and Frontex Executive Director, Fabrice Leggeri visited the Poland-Belarus border. Brigadier General Grzegorz Niemiec, Deputy Commander in Chief of the Border Guard, also attended the visit.

    Today (30 September), Minister Mariusz Kaminski met with Ylva Johansson, EU Commissioner for Home Affairs, to discuss the crisis caused by Belarus' hybrid actions against the EU Member States, primarily Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. In these actions, the Belarusian regime uses migrants instrumentally to destabilise and exert political pressure on these countries.

    Bartosz Grodecki, undersecretary of state in the Ministry of Interior and Administration, and Arnoldas Abramavičius, Deputy Minister of the Interior of Lithuania, chaired the 20th anniversary meeting of the Polish-Lithuanian Intergovernmental Commission on Cross-Border Cooperation. The meeting was held on 23-24 September in Vilnius.

    The second Polish-Lithuanian intergovernmental consultations were held in Warsaw on Friday (17 September), led by Poland’s Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, and Lithuania’s Prime Minister, Ingrida Šimonytė. As part of the bilateral talks, the head of the Polish Ministry of Interior Mariusz Kamiński met with the Minister of Interior of the Republic of Lithuania, Agnė Bilotaitė.

    –The Polish state has undertaken necessary and adequate steps to seal the Polish-Belarusian border. ‘The main objective of the Border Guard, supported by the Polish Armed Forces and the Police, is to prevent illegal border crossings’ said Deputy Minister Maciej Wąsik in the Sejm. The Deputy Head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration answered MPs' questions at the Sejm on the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border.
