On 12 May 2024, a fire broke out at the Marywilska 44 Shopping Centre in Warsaw. A total of 1,400 shops and service outlets were completely burned.

The Council of Ministers adopted a resolution on submitting to the Sejm of the Republic of Poland a request for consent to the extension of the temporary restriction of the right to lodge an application for international protection at the state border with the Republic of Belarus, submitted by the Minister of Interior and Administration.

On 23rd April 2025 in Warsaw, Poland and Norway concluded an intergovernmental agreement opening the fourth edition of the Norway Grants for the years 2021-2028. Under this agreement, Poland will receive a total of over EUR 441 million (i.e., more than PLN 1.9 billion) for projects and investments. Out of this amount, more than EUR 82 million will be allocated to the programme being implemented by the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.

"Protecting the border is our shared responsibility. We are glad that Commissioner Brunner came to Poland to oversee this matter personally. For the past three and a half years, Poland has been dealing with hybrid aggression perpetrated by the Lukashenko regime, which entices people from various parts of the world and then tries to force them to cross the border into Poland and into the European Union", said Minister Tomasz Siemoniak at a press conference at the border crossing in Połowce. On Thursday 24 April, the Minister of the Interior and Administration met with Magnus Brunner, EU Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration.

‘I want to stress the importance of this mission, in particular in recent years, which have shown how easily destabilisation, conflict or war can occur. The Polish mission to Kosovo has been ongoing for 25 years to date. This is something to be proud of,’ said Minister Tomasz Siemoniak. On Thursday, 17 April, the Minister of the Interior and Administration met with Polish police officers who are serving in Kosovo as part of the EULEX mission. He also attended the Easter meeting and presented commemorative plaques to distinguished officers.

A meeting of senior European Union and the United States officials concerning justice and home affairs took place on 31 March and 1 April 2025, led by the Polish Presidency in the Council of the European Union. Common priorities included combating crime and irregular migration.

On Monday, 31 March, Minister of the Interior and Administration and Coordinator of Special Services Tomasz Siemoniak took part in the Border Security - Organised Immigration Crime summit. The Minister of the Interior and Administration also met with representatives of the UK security sector.

On Friday, 21 March 2025, Minister of the Interior and Administration Tomasz Siemoniak met with Lithuanian Minister of the Interior Vladislav Kondratovič. The ministers exchanged views on international cooperation concerning migration management, strengthening border protection and responding to hybrid threats, as both countries are victims of hybrid aggression perpetrated by Russia and Belarus.

“We need to work hand in hand and solve problems together. In the face of hybrid threats, we need to coordinate our actions,” said Minister Tomasz Siemoniak in the Sejm on Monday. The Minister of the Interior and Administration attended the Inter-Parliamentary Conference on the Common Foreign and Security Policy and the Common Security and Defence Policy, where he presented the Polish perspective on the hybrid threats we currently face.

On Friday, 14 March, Minister of the Interior and Administration Tomasz Siemoniak met Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Unity of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov for the third time in 2025. The ministers continued their talks concerning the challenges stemming from the presence of Ukrainian war refugees in Poland.
