BOOST: Green Futures Challenge - Supporting Green Innovation from Ukraine
25.09.2025
On 22–23 September 2025, the final stage of the BOOST: Green Futures Challenge programme took place in Lviv. The initiative was implemented with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Europe and Central Asia, as well as Polish Aid for Ukrainian entrepreneurs.
BOOST is designed to support innovators working to tackle climate change, protect biodiversity, advance the circular economy, and create green jobs. In 2025, the programme – funded by Polish Aid – has focused on empowering entrepreneurs from Ukraine and Moldova.
Developed in collaboration with a broad network of public and private partners, both local and international, the program targeted representatives of academia, the private sector, and non-governmental organisations. It featured four core content modules, enhanced by mentoring and experience-sharing opportunities.
The Ukrainian edition of BOOST is part of a wider effort to locate the green transition and strengthen climate resilience through entrepreneurship and innovation. The initiative culminated in a Demo Day in Lviv, where Ukrainian startups showcased their projects to a panel of experts, investors, and representatives of both the public and private sectors.
Upon completing the programme, participants received financial support to further develop their initiatives and joined a growing alumni network, granting them continued access to mentoring, training, and personalized consultations.
As part of the cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UNDP under BOOST, on 3 October 2025, a Moldovan edition of the program will take place in Chișinău, during which 16 representatives of Moldovan startups will present their projects to a panel of experts, investors, and representatives of the public and private sectors. The most promising projects selected from the initiatives presented during the event will receive financial awards of 20,000 USD each for further development and market entry.
