MFA statement on situation in Gaza Strip

19.09.2025

Poland is concerned by the IDF expanding their ground operation in the Gaza Strip, a move which has no sufficient military grounds and which causes unacceptable humanitarian consequences for the enclave's civilian population. We reiterate our call on Israel to ensure full protection of civilians and immediately increase deliveries of humanitarian aid.

At the same time, it is with the deepest concern that we note the conclusions of a report published on 16 September by the UN Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, according to which Israel has committed genocide against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and bears responsibility for it.

Poland is taking part in the current work within the EU to take the appropriate economic and political steps to address the situation. We continue to call for the unconditional release of all hostages held by Hamas and for a permanent ceasefire.
