Polish aid

In 2019, the grant equivalent of Poland’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) was nearly PLN 3 billion.

Involvement in the work of the Executive Board during a three-year term, starting in 2021, will allow Poland to take active part in setting out the course of humanitarian operations across the globe.

The conference on assistance for Syria was organised jointly, for the fourth time, by the EU and the UN. This year, due to the epidemiological situation caused by Covid-19, the event was held in the form of a video conference.

“Today we are sending a transport of personal protective equipment to Baku. Thus, the solidarity aid continues for our partners under the Eastern Partnership programme,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Paweł Jabłoński.

Although Albert Einstein, a physicist, Madeline Albright, the United States Secretary of State, or M.I.A, a singer achieved fame in various fields, they have at least one thing in common – they were all refugees.

The Government of the Republic of Poland has decided to provide a voluntary contribution to the budget of the World Food Programme, Kenya Office, with an amount of 470 537 PLN (which is approximately € 105 000).

Initiatives that have been carried out for many years, now, in times of the Covid-19 pandemic, produce tangible results.

Thanks to Polish Aid funds, assistance is provided in the form of improving the competences and skills of staff in social institutions and offering better availability of psychological support for those in need.

“It is with great pleasure and pride that I take part, as a representative of the Polish government, in the inauguration of the medical mission, commissioned by the WHO and organised by the Polish Centre for International Aid with the support of the Polish Army,” said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Paweł Jabłoński, while seeing off a team of 23 doctors, nurses and paramedics of the Polish Centre for International Aid (PCPM), who are to launch their medical mission in Tajikistan.

Poland supports its neighbours again in their fight against the COVID-19 epidemic. Today, another humanitarian aid convoy of over 40 trucks sets off to Belarus, carrying in total 300 tonnes of protective equipment and supplies.
