22.06.2023 PolicePrime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki: investment in polymers is also an investment in Polish chemical industryA new installation for plastics production has been built in Police, near Szczecin. The plant, which is part of Grupa Azoty Police, is one of the largest chemical industry investments in Europe. The investment will consolidate Poland's position on the market and strengthen our country's raw material independence. In addition to the infrastructure for production, accompanying facilities have also been created – an offshore gas port, storage silos and a logistics platform. The “Polimery Police” complex uses the latest technologies to produce plastics and hydrogen. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki attended the ceremony to mark the start of production at the Grupa Azoty Police plant. He stressed that the new investment is a great contribution to the Polish chemical sector and creates many new jobs.

Changes we have implemented over the past few years are delivering visible results. In 2022, for the first time ever, the number of road accident victims in Poland fell below 1,900. Our road safety efforts have been recognised at the European forum. Poland was awarded the Road Safety Performance Index Award by the European Transport Safety Council. We also know how important education is from an early age. That is why we support social programmes and campaigns concerning road safety. We make sure that every corner of Poland is invested in. That is why the Government Strategic Investment Programme was established, which changes the lives of local people for the better. Local communities receive funds to renovate roads, build new kindergartens or sports fields, and water supply systems. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has announced that the 6th edition of the programme will be aimed at local governments in which state-owned farms, so-called PGRs, were located. The call for applications starts tomorrow and will last until the end of July. This is yet another support for former state-owned farms. In the third call, municipalities and poviats received a total of over PLN 4 billion for investments close to the people.
