    The Polish Deal includes numerous favourable solutions that will benefit Poles. Among the programme’s key aspects are tax changes. A record increase in the tax-free amount, as well as an increase in the income tax threshold to PLN 120,000 – these are merely two of the solutions proposed as part of the Polish Deal. The government of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki listens to the voice of citizens when making decisions vital to Poland. This time is no different. Draft tax regulations are currently being consulted. In addition, the Prime Minister took part in a meeting with representatives of entrepreneurs. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Social Insurance Institution and the Polish Economic Institute.

    Addressing dangerous road behaviour more effectively, providing support for the victims’ families, improved pedestrian protection and punishing the perpetrators more severely are the primary goals of the new amendment to the Road Traffic Act adopted by the Council of Ministers. The proposed solutions bring to life the announcement made by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in his exposé. The new solutions are scheduled to enter into force on 1 December 2021.

    Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki began his celebrations of the 77th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising by tidying up graves of Polish heroes with scouts and meeting with Insurgents who took part in the Uprising itself. On Sunday, PM Morawiecki participated in a Holy Mass to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the birth of Stefan Wyszyński – the Primate of the Millennium. Additionally, Mr Morawiecki visited the Childhood Museum of Primate Wyszyński in Zuzele. At 5:00 p.m. – the "W" Hour – the Prime Minister paid tribute to everyone who died in Poland’s struggle for independence at the “Gloria Victis” monument. At the end of the celebrations, the Prime Minister, together with the people of Warsaw, sang patriotic songs at a concert held in Warsaw’s Freedom Park.

    “This year, the Polish economy will develop faster than what earlier forecasts had shown – maybe even at a level of 5%. Next year we will exceed 5% growth. This is an excellent environment for the dynamic development of Polish entrepreneurs and companies”, said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during his visit to a transport company in Źródła, Dolnośląskie Voivodeship. During his visit, Mr Morawiecki also visited a Respite Care Nursing Home construction site in Wrocław, where he thanked everyone involved in its construction.

    Turning words into deeds, the Council of Ministers has adopted the first bills under the Polish Deal. Projects on counteracting unfair commercial practices in agriculture, increased reimbursement of excise duties on agricultural fuel, better health care financing, opening up agricultural retail trade, offshore wind farm investment projects, as well as the construction of little Science Centres are just some of those that will soon be submitted to the Sejm. And this is just the beginning. We are soon going to proceed with other previously announced bills to bring benefits to all Poles.     Western European countries are currently struggling with increasing numbers of COVID-19 infections. Poland has recently been recording slightly more than 100 cases per day. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki stressed that the situation in Western Europe poses a risk to Poland. The COVID-19 pandemic has already shown time and time again that our advantage over the virus can be fragile and short-lived. A discussion on the current epidemic situation was held during the meeting of the Government Crisis Management Team. Importantly, preparations for a possible fourth wave of the pandemic were also summarised during its course. The Minister of Health announced that Poland is prepared for an increase in coronavirus infections. Nonetheless, vaccinations remain the most effective weapon in the fight against COVID-19. Do not hesitate and get vaccinated to protect both yourself and others!

    The Polish Deal is the government's response to the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, but it is also a great investment impulse for the next decades. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited the Małopolskie Voivodeship. During his visit to the Wiśniowski company, Mr Morawiecki spoke about new solutions - such as a higher tax-free amount for everyone, as well as increasing the income tax threshold for the first time in 12 years. The Prime Minister stressed that as the Polish Deal is introduced, Poland’s economy enters a phase of intense development. “The Polish Deal is a proposal for Polish workers and entrepreneurs that we should sail together on the boat that is the Polish economy and achieve the highest speed possible”, he added.

    The construction of Kurów’s new bridge over the Dunajec River is proceeding according to plan. Located at a section of National Road No. 75 between Nowy Sącz and Brzesko, this investment project is vital not only due to communication improvements but also because of its tourist and economic impact. The bridge construction project is entirely funded from the state budget, with its cost exceeding PLN 189 million. Additionally, the investment project includes altering the course of the National Road No. 75 itself.

    Online transfers, shopping and e-prescriptions have become commonplace, and our lives are becoming increasingly digitised. Unfortunately, this also results in more and more online threats. These days, new methods of online fraud appear virtually overnight. “To counteract fraud, theft and various types of attacks and cyber threats, we are establishing a service dedicated to such issues”, announced PM Mateusz Morawiecki. The new police unit – the Central Cybercrime Bureau – will be responsible for identifying, preventing and combating cyber threats.

    Yet another videoconference meeting of the Medical Council took place on 26 July 2021, with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Health Minister Adam Niedzielski also attending. The topics discussed included accelerating the vaccination process, recommendations to consider compulsory vaccinations for medical staff and teachers, as well as counteracting the aggressive actions by anti-vaccination movements.
