Prime Minister in Żabia Wola: family is the most important support in life

12.04.2022

Supporting Polish families is a priority for us. We prove it through the implementation of programmes such as Family 500+ and Family Care Capital. Since 1 April, parents can take advantage of the new solution and apply for additional funds. It is even PLN 400 a month to pay for the stay of the youngest children in a nursery, children's club or with a day care provider. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited the nursery in Żabia Wola. During his visit, he talked about the measures taken to support families. The Prime Minister emphasised that the government strives to create new care centres across the country - to support parents who want to combine professional duties with family life. The nursery in Żabia Wola is the first facility of that type in the municipality. It was opened thanks to the financial support under the governmental programme Maluch+

We support parents – subsidies for the child's stay in the nursery

We support parents who want to combine family life with work. For them, we have introduced co-financing for the stay of their youngest children in a nursery, children's club or with a day care provider.

- As part of this programme, we want to make it easier for Polish families to leave their children in nurseries. It is not only a vacancy in a nursery that is important. Many other types of costs are involved. That is why we are co-financing a place in a nursery with the amount of up to PLN 400, so that it is easier for mothers, faster to find the place in a nursery, and to ease the burden on the budget at the same time – says the Prime Minister.

The subsidy is available to parents who do not benefit from the Family Care Capital.

Parents can apply for the subsidy from 1 April at the Social Insurance Institution. How to do it? Only via the Internet - via the PUE ZUS portal, the Emp@tia portal or Internet banking.

Over PLN 1 million in government subsidy to open the nursery in Żabia Wola

The nursery in Żabia Wola is the first facility of that type in the municipality. For the purpose of its opening, the local government has received PLN 1.1 million in government subsidy under the programme "Maluch+". Thanks to that investment, from May 2020, parents will have a facility where approximately 50 children at the age from 20 weeks to 3 years will be taken care of.

- For a family to be able to privide full suport, so that, above all, women and mothers could pursue their professional aspirations, us, the state, must help to open proper facilities for raising the youngest and taking care of the youngest – stresses the Prime Minister. The prime Minister has added that in recent years, the government has significantly increased the number of vacancies in nurseries through Maluch+ programme but also through the creation of new nurseries, such as the one in Żabia Wola, near Warsaw.

Maluch+ programme, apart from Family 500+, Family Care Capital or the Good Start programmes has been introduced to supports families with children. The main goal of the programme is to increase the availability of childcare facilities throughout Poland. The subsidies under that programme are to be allocated for the establishment of nurseries or children's clubs.

Family comes first - government support for parents and children

- ‘’Good times for Polish families’’, ‘’building a state of happy families’’ are not just slogans - they are, above all, a consistently implemented programme. For the past six years, we have been creating a good environment for Polish families – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

On 1 April, it’s been six years since the launch of Family 500+ programme. The programme itself has undergone a metamorphosis but its basis has been the same since the beginning. It is an investment into the family. Since the introduction of that solution, Polish families have received nearly PLN 178 billion. Over 6.5 million children have been covered with the suport.

The Family Care Capital benefit is also an important support with regards to childcare. This new solution came into force on 1 January. The programme is dedicated to parents of children at the age of 12 to 35 months and provides for a total of PLN 12,000 in subsidies for the second and each subsequent child. So far, we have already paid out over PLN 1 billion to families under thar programme. In 2022, we will allocate approximately PLN 3.1 billion for that purpose, in total.
