Celebration of Civil Service Day

Monday, February 17, 2025, marks the statutory Civil Service Day, a holiday established by the amendment to the Civil Service Act of April 14, 2023. It is a special moment that reminds us of the key role of civil servants in ensuring the smooth functioning of the state and the implementation of public tasks.

Why February 17?

The date has special historical significance - it refers to the anniversary of the Second Republic's Sejm's enactment of the Act of February 17, 1922 on the State Civil Service which established the civil service.

Thanks for your commitment

On the occasion of Civil Service Day, the Director General of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Marcin Iskra, held a meeting and wished all civil servants:

“Thank you for your daily work, commitment and professionalism, with which you contribute to the development of our country. I wish you continued professional success, satisfaction with your tasks and a sense of pride in your honorable role of serving citizens. Thank you for the effort you put into building an efficient and responsible public administration in Poland”.

Presentation of the Badge of Honor for Meritorious Service to the Civil Service

According to the Civil Service Act, persons of particular merit may be awarded the following The Badge of Honor for Meritorious Service to the Civil Service. The Prime Minister's Order which specifies the design of the badge, the diploma and the rules for awarding it, came into effect on July 30, 2024.

The badge is awarded to individuals who, in addition to many years of experience, have distinguished themselves through special achievements in public administration work. This year, this honor was given to Ms. Aneta Ramusiewicz from the Office of the Director General. Congratulations to our colleague!

On the occasion of Civil Service Day, we wish all employees satisfaction with their mission - because it is a mission, not just a profession. We wish you good health, a good atmosphere in the workplace and much success, both professionally and personally.

The civil service in the Ministry of Science supports the development of knowledge and innovation, and thus directly affects social and economic progress. Every employee can be proud that his or her actions realistically support the development of science and higher education in Poland.
