Who can obtain assistance and when?

Social assistance is available to every applicant and the person on behalf of whom he / she is applying when submitting an application for international protection in Poland. Except for situations specified in the Act on granting protection to foreigners within the territory of the Republic of Poland, i.e. when the applicant:
- enjoys subsidiary protection;
- stays in the territory of the Republic of Poland on the basis of a permit to stay due to humanitarian reasons or a permit for tolerated stay - after the expiry of the periods referred to in art. 71 sec. 1 of the act.
- stays in the territory of the Republic of Poland on the basis of a temporary residence permit, a permanent residence permit or a long-term resident's European Union residence permit;
- stays in a care and educational facility;
- is in a guarded center or detention center for foreigners;
- is temporarily arrested or serving a sentence of imprisonment.


In the event that the applicant and the person on whose behalf he / she wishes to use the cash benefit to cover the costs of their stay in the territory of the Republic of Poland, they may:
1. Send to the following address: Departament Pomocy Socjalnej, ul. Taborowa 33, 02-699 Warsaw, the following documents:
• a copy of the Temporary Foreigner's Identity Certificate (TZTC)
• a completed and signed application for granting aid in the form of a cash benefit to cover your own costs of stay in the territory of the Republic of Poland - the application can be downloaded HERE.
• signed declaration on reading the material on social assistance.
2. Report to the Foreigner Service Team at the seat of the Office for Foreigners in Warsaw at ul. Taborowa 16,
3. Report to the nearest center for foreigners, the Office for Foreigners.
