- Many countries in Europe are concerned about the impact of cormorants on fish stocks, aquaculture and aquatic ecosystems. This is an international issue, therefore, solving this problem requires cooperation at the European level - said Secretary of State Jacek Czerniak during the formal opening of the conference on management advice to reduce cormorant predation impacts.

Undersecretary of State Adam Nowak met with the American students, participants in the Poland-Texas Young Farmer Exchange Programme. The delegation was chaired by Professor Jim Mazurkiewicz from the Texas A&M University, who, together with the Polish Association of Grain Plant Producers, acts as the coordinator of the programme.

On 15 May 2025, a conference on sustainable management of populations of protected animals causing damage to agriculture was held in Brussels - an event dedicated to the current challenges related to the growing population of protected animals - in particular wolves - and the reasonable concerns of rural communities directly affected by the growing population of this species.

At numerous meetings during a visit to the APAS Show fair in Brazil, the Secretary of State Stefan Krajewski talked about the possibility of increasing the export of Polish agri-food products to Brazil and about methods to support Polish agri-food companies in their commercial expansion in the Brazilian market.

Today, the Secretary of State Jacek Czerniak talked with the representatives of the economic mission from Brazil: the representatives of the Brazilian Parliament, the authorities of the state of Parana, the University of Parana and Brazilian companies from the agricultural sector, about strengthening the Polish-Brazilian relations at the administrative level and new areas of cooperation in the agricultural sector.

The European Congress for Rural Renewal and Development is already behind us. This three-day event, organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as part of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU, attracted nearly 4,500 people - participants in the panels, debates and workshops, as well as visitors to the accompanying exhibition. On the one hand, the Congress was a venue of political discussion on the future of agriculture and rural areas, and on the other hand, a presentation of Polish folklore and an opportunity to taste wonderful Polish food. The most important venue - of the debate held for more than three days - was the plenary room, where more than 100 experts presented their topics. The partner of the event was the Local Government of the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is the organiser of the Polish national stand at the Apas Show fair in São Paulo, Brazil. On 12 May, another edition of the event, considered one of the largest events of the food and retail industry in Latin America, was started.

The future of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), the situation related to foot-and-mouth disease cases in Europe, the existing achievements and plans of the Polish Presidency as well as empowering farmers in the food chain were discussed by the Secretary of State Jacek Czerniak with the representatives of the Bulgarian party during the BATA AGRO 2025 International Agricultural Fair in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria on 12 May 2025.

The second day of the European Congress for Rural Renewal and Development in Poznań means discussions on the future of agriculture, rural areas and international cooperation. In parallel to the official programme of the Congress, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Czesław Siekierski met with the EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Christophe Hansen and the representatives of agricultural organisations and the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry of the Republic of Moldova Ludmila Catlabuga.
