High costs of fertilizers and fuel, combined with low purchase prices, are worsening the situation of farms across the EU. Poland expects action to be taken by the European Commission. We are advocating for a stronger role of Member States in the implementation of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) after 2027. These issues were discussed by agriculture ministers during the AGRIFISH Council in Luxembourg.

The future of the Common Agricultural Policy post-2027 and the situation on agricultural markets will be the major topics of the EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council's meeting in Luxembourg. Poland will be represented by Stefan Krajewski.

Restrictions on access to the Algerian market - particularly for dairy products - make the development of Polish export difficult. The Secretary of State Jacek Czerniak talked with the Ambassador of Algeria Mohamed Salah Belaid about the possibilities of lifting those restrictions and increasing the presence of Polish food in Algeria.

Polish companies can not only export to Africa but also successfully develop their production and sales there. An example is Jibal in Morocco, a company belonging to the Polmlek group - today, one of the most important players on the local dairy market. During his visit to Morocco, Minister Stefan Krajewski visited the Jibal plant, the cooperative delivering milk to the plant and the Tarmast farm. This is an example of cooperation, which translates into the real presence of Polish companies and growing export.

The objective of the visit paid by the MARD delegation chaired by the Secretary of State Małgorzata Gromadzka is to further develop Polish-Singaporean trade cooperation in the agri-food sector and to increase the export of Polish products to the South-East Asia countries.

Secretary of State Małgorzata Gromadzka started her visit to Singapore with participating in the opening ceremony of the Food & Hospitality Asia (FHA) 2026 fair and in the formal opening of the Polish national stand. The objective of the visit is to strengthen Poland's position as a reliable supplier of high-quality food, to support Polish companies on new markets and to strengthen Polish-Singaporean trade relations.

One of the largest fish trade fairs in the world has been commenced in Barcelona. The Polish fish processing industry presents its offer and develops export contacts. The national stand was opened by the Secretary of State Jacek Czerniak. The fair will last until 23 April 2026.

For Polish companies, the participation in one of the largest agricultural fairs in the world - SIAM in Meknes is an opportunity to enter the Moroccan market directly and establish relations with partners from all over Africa. The event brings together producers, processors and importers from several dozens of countries and is one of the key points of contact for agri-food trade in the region.

On 20 April 2026, the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Małgorzata Gromadzka paid an official visit to Jakarta. The major objective of the talks with representatives of the Indonesian administration was to open the local market for a wide range of Polish agri-food products and to strengthen scientific cooperation.

Polish farmers have been waiting for it and we have done it. Japan is even more open to Polish beef - said Minister Stefan Krajewski after the meeting with the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Norikazu SUZUKI and the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare Kenichiro UENO.
