On 14 March 2022, during the first day of his visit to New York, Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau met with President of the United Nations General Assembly, Abdulla Shahid of Maldives.

On 14 March, Minister Zbigniew Rau met in New York with Ambassador Mohamed Abushahab, chargé d’affaires a.i. of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Mission to the UN, which holds the UN Council presidency in March 2022. The meeting centred on Russian aggression in Ukraine and its humanitarian implications.

The MFA head will be speaking with United Nations representatives in New York about Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and the humanitarian situation of refugees from this country.

Yesterday, in another round of evacuation from Ukraine, 58 ill children and their carers arrived in Poland on board eleven ambulances and three coaches. All the evacuees reached their destination in safety.

On 10 March in the afternoon, Minister Rau spoke by phone with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau’s telephone call with Othman Jerandi focused on the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine triggered by the Russian aggression.

On 11 March 2022, Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau held a telephone conversation with head of diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

On 9 March, Minister Zbigniew Rau met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil Carlos Alberto Franco França. The Brazilian diplomat visited Poland in connection with a delivery of humanitarian aid to Ukraine and a coordination of how Brazilian citizens are being evacuated to their homeland.

On Thursday, 10 March, Minister Zbigniew Rau spoke by phone with Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud, Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The talks were a continuation of Polish-Saudi political dialogue.
