04.03.2022Minister Zbigniew Rau took part in the NATO foreign ministers’ meeting in Brussels on 4 March 2022. The session was also attended by the foreign ministers of Sweden and Finland, as well as the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. The meeting’s agenda also included an address by the foreign minister of Ukraine. The session was entirely devoted to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the current security situation in Europe.

04.03.2022The EU foreign ministers were also joined by the heads of diplomacy of Ukraine, the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The meeting was also attended by the NATO secretary general. Joint discussion was aimed at enhancing EU’s coordination with its partners.

The visit’s programme included participation in high-level segments of the 49th session of the Human Rights Council and the Conference on Disarmament as well as meetings with United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi, Director General of the International Organization for Migration António Vitorino, and President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Peter Maurer.

03.03.2022Due to the aggression against independent Ukraine by the Russian Federation, a member of the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS), the foreign ministers of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland and Sweden and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy - that is, all members of the Council except Russia - adopted a declaration on suspending it from the work of the organization on all levels, and suspend Belarus as a CBSS observer state.

02.03.2022170 people left Lviv in four coaches. The transport took place on 2 March through efforts of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv and the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
