“Effective use of the opportunities offered by modern digital technology in health prevention and care helps contain the COVID-19 pandemic,” emphasised Minister Jacek Czaputowicz during a ministerial video conference on the use of digital technology in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, held on 1 July this year.

On 30 June 2020, Minister Jacek Czaputowicz took part in a video conference of foreign ministers of the Three Seas Initiative, organised by Estonia. During the virtual meeting, the Estonian side presented the preparations for the Three Seas Summit, which will take place in Tallinn on 19-20 October 2020.

Despite the pandemic and the international situation brought by it, Polish presidential elections abroad had a record turnout. District electoral commissions in Polish diplomatic and consular missions received a great majority of ballot papers that were sent under postal vote.

“I would like to state Poland’s willingness to settle Sudan’s debt on terms that will be favourable for Sudan and will foster the development of Polish-Sudanese economic and political relations,” said Minister Jacek Czaputowicz during a virtual Sudan Partnership Conference co-hosted by Germany, Sudan, the European Union, and the United Nations.

“On behalf of the Polish government and Polish Diplomacy I would like to thank you for your commitment and active participation in providing assistance to those who need help in the fight against the pandemic,” said Deputy Minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk during an online meeting with representatives of the Polish community in North and South America, Europe, and Asia who took part in the Polonia4Neighbours action.

“The global epidemic showed us the true meaning of democratic values vested in the Warsaw Declaration,” said Minister Jacek Czaputowicz during a videoconference of the Governing Council of the Community of Democracies held to mark the 20th anniversary of signing of the Warsaw Declaration.

“Today we are sending a transport of personal protective equipment to Baku. Thus, the solidarity aid continues for our partners under the Eastern Partnership programme,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Paweł Jabłoński at Wroclaw airport.

“Angola is our priority partner in Africa. We would like to give a new impetus to our economic cooperation, specifically as regards transport, building industry, fishery, and mining,” Minister Jacek Czaputowicz said at a meeting with Feliciano António dos Santos, Angola’s Ambassador to Poland.

“On this day, we again meet our international and human obligations sharing what we can with the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. The aid is a token of our solidarity and the readiness to cooperate with the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, our important partners within the Eastern Partnership,” said Deputy Minister Paweł Jabłoński during the departure ceremony of further two humanitarian convoys carrying equipment and supplies to fight the coronavirus pandemic in Ukraine and Moldova.

“President Andrzej Duda’s Washington visit demonstrates the close partnership between Poland and the US. Today, our relations focus on key matters such as defence, security, and energy,” said Minister Jacek Czaputowicz opening a debate organised in collaboration with the Warsaw office of the German Marshall Fund. Participants of the videoconference The Future of Transatlantic Relations in a Post-COVID World discussed the implications of the global crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, possible remedial actions, as well as the future of the transatlantic relationship in a new, post-pandemic reality.
