On 2 October, Deputy Minister Marcin Przydacz held political consultations with State Secretary of the German Federal Foreign Office Andreas Michaelis and Christina Beinhoff, deputy advisor for foreign affairs to the German chancellor.

On behalf of the Polish President, Minister Jacek Czaputowicz has presented Paweł Milewski with his nomination as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Japan today.

The agenda of the Undersecretary of State’s visit to Lebanon included conference of the European Investment Bank, bilateral talks, launching a Polish-German project to rebuild schools and monitoring humanitarian and development projects financed by Polish Aid.

“Public diplomacy is the diplomacy of the future. Each of us should be Poland’s ambassador using the available media, including social media,” Deputy Minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk said during a debate titled ‘Modern promotion of Poland’

“Poland wants the European project to succeed. Therefore, we underline the need to develop single market as the source of prosperity, support the enlargement policy and neighbourhood policy to enable the EU to impact its surroundings, and we insist on taking the EU budget seriously,” noted Deputy Minister Konrad Szymański during the European Forum for New Ideas in Sopot.

On Wednesday, Minister Czaputowicz joined President Andrzej Duda at a meeting with UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

The purpose of the preliminary requests filed by two Polish judges was to challenge the compliance of Polish disciplinary proceedings applied to the judges with the EU law. The Court of Justice Advocate-General recognized today that the requests should be considered inadmissible by the CJEU.

"The United Nations Security Council remains the most important forum to discuss maintaining international peace and security,” Minister Jacek Czaputowicz said before the opening of the general debate of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

In connection with the information appearing on the detention of the UBC Savannah ship and the press conference held by the family of the ship’s captain arrested in Mexico, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland would like to inform that the Polish diplomatic and consular service is fully committed to assisting Polish citizens involved in a drug trafficking case, following a seizure of 224.7894 kilogrammes of drugs.

Minister Jacek Czaputowicz took part in a meeting titled “Universal Health Coverage: Moving Together to Build a Healthier World,” which was held as part of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
