“Today’s consultations confirmed the excellent state of our bilateral relations and cooperation in international fora. Estonia is one of Poland’s closest partners in both NATO and European Union and regional organisations,” said Minister Jacek Czaputowicz after a meeting in Warsaw with chief of Estonian diplomacy Urmas Reinsalu.

“When speaking about the EU’s reform, we need to focus on the things that help increase security and prosperity of the citizens and that boost EU leverage in the world in line with European values and standards,” stressed the Polish foreign minister at the Europaforum in Berlin.

“The Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties is fundamental to the functioning of a state in the sphere of international law,” said Deputy Minister Piotr Wawrzyk in Warsaw at a conference organised by the MFA’s Legal and Treaty Department titled “50 years of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties in the context of the Polish treaty practice.”

Deputy Foreign Minister Maciej Lang welcomed the delegation of the Defense and Security Committee of the Czech Chamber of Deputies at the MFA headquarters.

“Poland supports the changes taking place in Armenia and stands ready to support Yerevan in its efforts to carry out wide-ranging modernisation reforms,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Przydacz during today’s talks with deputy chief of Armenian diplomacy Avet Adonts.

A meeting with the chief of German diplomacy, participation in a renowned European Forum organised by the WDR television station and a visit to the Topography of Terror Documentation Centre will be the highlights of Minister Czaputowicz’s visit to the German capital on 23 May.

An independent election panel composed of four UN organisations, including the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), picked Katowice to host the 11th World Urban Forum (WUF) in 2022.

“A new institutional cycle offers new possibilities to better promote the interests of Poland, Slovakia, and the whole Central Europe under the new Strategic Agenda,” Secretary of State for European Affairs Konrad Szymański said during the fifth round of the Polish-Slovak Discussion Forum on 22 May in Bratislava.

In view of the next legislative cycle, which will begin after the European elections, the European Council at its meeting on 20-21 June will adopt the EU’s new Strategic Agenda 2019-2024. Poland is actively engaged in preparations of this document.

The programme of the visit by Secretary for Relations with States of the Holy See includes a meeting with Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz and participation in a conference to mark the 100th anniversary of the reestablishment of relations between the Republic of Poland and the Holy See. It was Archbishop Paul Gallagher’s first visit to Warsaw.
