“The process of growing mutual dependencies and connections means that transport and energy infrastructure has become an important element determining development policies,” Deputy Foreign Minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk said at the international conference “Western Balkans: Infrastructure and energy from a geopolitical perspective.”

Bilateral cooperation and shared interests in the area of regional security and eastern policy, including the Eastern Partnership, will be at the heart of the talks in Warsaw between the chiefs of Polish and Swedish diplomacy, on 30 May.

“The right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion, which is commonly referred to as the right to freedom of religion or belief, is a universal right of every human being and the cornerstone of many other rights,” Minister Jacek Czaputowicz said at the UN General Assembly session in New York.

Deputy Foreign Minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk attended the foreign ministers meeting of the Visegrad Group and the Western Balkan States 2019 in Bratislava.

“All six countries seeking OECD membership are eligible to open accession negotiations, which is something Poland has repeatedly endorsed,” said the deputy chief of Polish diplomacy during the Ministerial Council Meeting of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz will attend the UN General Assembly in New York on 28 May. The session’s agenda contains a resolution to establish 22 August an International Day to commemorate victims of religious or denomination-motivated violence. The resolution is a Polish initiative.

“Today’s consultations confirmed the excellent state of our bilateral relations and cooperation in international fora. Estonia is one of Poland’s closest partners in both NATO and European Union and regional organisations,” said Minister Jacek Czaputowicz after a meeting in Warsaw with chief of Estonian diplomacy Urmas Reinsalu.

“When speaking about the EU’s reform, we need to focus on the things that help increase security and prosperity of the citizens and that boost EU leverage in the world in line with European values and standards,” stressed the Polish foreign minister at the Europaforum in Berlin.

“The Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties is fundamental to the functioning of a state in the sphere of international law,” said Deputy Minister Piotr Wawrzyk in Warsaw at a conference organised by the MFA’s Legal and Treaty Department titled “50 years of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties in the context of the Polish treaty practice.”

Deputy Foreign Minister Maciej Lang welcomed the delegation of the Defense and Security Committee of the Czech Chamber of Deputies at the MFA headquarters.
