Protecting jobs and unfreezing the economy are our priorities in the fight against the effects of the epidemic - said Marlena Maląg, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy during Tuesday's discussion on the effects of the anti-crisis shield. Over PLN 84 billion was granted under the support shields for companies. The cost of the anti-crisis shield alone amounts to over PLN 25 billion.

PLN 3.45 billion granted to entrepreneurs from the Masovian Voivodeship as part of the various instruments under the anti-crisis shield. – Cooperation is the key in the struggle against the pandemic. Due to the joint efforts of individual ministries, entrepreneurs can count on real help - said Marlena Maląg, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy during the press conference in Łomianki last Wednesday.

On Wednesday afternoon, Marlena Maląg, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy visited Ogólnokrajowa Spółdzielnia Turystyczna Gromada [National Tourist Cooperative Gromada] in Warsaw as part of a series of regional meetings with companies who have received support under the anti-crisis shied. The Minister also raised the issues of additional forms of support for the people who have lost their jobs in result of the coronavirus crisis: a solidarity benefit and a tourist voucher.

In a little over 2 months, the entrepreneurs have already received approximately PLN 23.8 billion in individual instruments granted under the anti-crisis shield. The remuneration subsidies granted under the Guaranteed Employee Benefits Fund alone amount to nearly PLN 5 billion to protect almost 1.2 million jobs. Companies confirm - this is an important support that helps to maintain employment during this difficult time

The number of job offers submitted by employers to labour offices in May this year was almost 25 percent higher than in April. – That is a great forecast for the future - comments Marlena Maląg, Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy. Moreover, the number of active businesses is now greater than before the pandemic. Eurostat positively assesses the situation in Poland, as it ranks second in terms of lowest unemployment in the European Union.

So far, over PLN 2.2 billion has been paid out for idle time benefits, while over PLN 7.2 billion in Social Insurance Institution contributions were exempted. On Tuesday, the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy Marlena Maląg and the President of the Social Insurance Institution, prof. Gertruda Uścińska summarised the implementation of two key instruments of the anti-crisis shield during a press conference.

Since the launch of the anti-crisis shield, aiming to counteract the negative effects of the coronavirus pandemic, entrepreneurs have received support in the total amount of PLN 12.7 billion.

The situation in the centres for the elderly and disabled is stable. During the pandemic, local governments received an aid of PLN 20 million from the special purpose reserve of the state budget. During today's press conference, Marlena Maląg, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy, spoke about the support granted to local governments running social welfare homes.
