Today's Mother's Day is a great opportunity to thank mothers for the effort of motherhood. - It is a beautiful, but also a difficult and responsible role, which requires appropriate appreciation - says Marlena Maląg, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy. For this occasion, we have prepared an overview of programmes which support families and therefore they support the mothers.

Since the launch of the anti-crisis shield, aiming to counteract the negative effects of the coronavirus pandemic, entrepreneurs have received support in the total amount of PLN 12.7 billion.

The situation in the centres for the elderly and disabled is stable. During the pandemic, local governments received an aid of PLN 20 million from the special purpose reserve of the state budget. During today's press conference, Marlena Maląg, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy, spoke about the support granted to local governments running social welfare homes.

Out of all support instruments offered under the anti-crisis shield, entrepreneurs have received almost PLN 10.5 billion. This is a result of six weeks of validity of the special act aimed at the prevention of negative consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.

Increased safety in the workplace, working from home office, companies shutting down – the coronavirus epidemic changed our working lives. What are our obligations as employees and what can we legally demand from our employer in this particular situation?

The coronavirus epidemic, which affects all of us, also touches people with disabilities, their families and caregivers. A package of solutions was prepared with them in mind as part of the Anti-Crisis Shield Act, including expanded care benefits, financial resources and new programmes.

The gradual re-opening of the economy following the lockdown and businesses relaunching entails taking the necessary measures to limit the spread of coronavirus. The National Labour Inspectorate prepared guidelines for employers and entrepreneurs who intend to relaunch their business activities.

Sheltered apartments can be a chance for independent life and participation in social life for many persons with various sorts of disability. This year’s total budget for the creation of new apartments to be assigned to local governments will amount to over PLN 2.3 million. This sum will be sufficient to build 20 apartments in 8 provinces.

Due to the fact that the opening of childcare institutions for the youngest children will be possible from 6th May this year, we present detailed guidelines that will apply in the coming weeks and months. They refer both to governing authorities of the above institutions, directors, caretakers and parents. It is very important to comply with the instructions – it is the safety of us all that counts.
