Poland in Malta

On November 11th at 19:00, the works of Polish composers Ignacy Jan Paderewski and Fryderyk Chopin were performed by Natalia Zaleska at the Malta Society of Arts. The concert was organized to commemorate Poland's Independence Day, and the selection of pieces was thoughtfully curated to reflect the spirit of this national celebration.

EUNIC is the European network of cultural institutes and embassies engaged in cultural relations, implementing joint projects in over 100 countries around the world through 136 clusters.

Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski presented the Lech Wałęsa Solidarity Prize in Miami. This year's prize went to Berta Soler Fernandez, a Cuban dissident and the leader of the Ladies in White opposition group.

In a symbolic gesture commemorating the heroes and heroines of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Radosław Sikorski, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, Gideon Sa’ar, together with 87 ambassadors and representatives of Polish and Israeli diplomatic missions in 50 countries worldwide, joined this year's Daffodils Campaign.

On November 18, a concert "Henryk Wieniawski in memoriam" was held at the Casino Maltese in Valletta on the occasion of the 106th anniversary of regaining independence by Poland. President of Malta H.E. Myriam Spiteri Debono attended the event.

On 14th of November, a concert by the outstanding Polish pianist Aleksander Dębicz took place at the Palazzo de La Salle in Valletta.

On 22nd of August at the Valletta Design Cluster was held a meeting with Michał Rusinek, Wisława Szymborska's personal secretary, president of the Wisława Szymborska Foundation, author of books for children and adults, professor at the Jagiellonian University. The event was organised within the Malta Mediterranean Literature Festival.
