‘We see this visit as a very important impulse for the development of Polish-Italian relations in the area of security and home affairs,’ stressed Minister Tomasz Siemoniak. On Monday, 10 March, the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Italy, Matteo Piantedosi, visited Warsaw at the invitation of the head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, the coordinator of the special services, Tomasz Siemoniak.

“I am very pleased that during the Polish Presidency in the Council of the European Union coincided with such significant progress in terms of protecting our external borders. The adopted solutions are flexible, while on the other hand, they ensure our security,” the Minister of the Interior and Administration Tomasz Siemoniak said in Brussels. On Wednesday, 5 March 2025, the Minister of the Interior and Administration chaired a meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council. Deputy Minister Maciej Duszczyk also participated in the meeting. The Council meeting was followed by a joint press conference with Minister Tomasz Siemoniak and EU Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner.

'I want to thank you for the recent visit to Sweden. It was very important in the context of the new law enacted by Poland. The opportunity to see and experience Swedish solutions concerning civil protection and defence was very important for us', said Minister of the Interior and Administration Tomasz Siemoniak. On Tuesday, 4 March, the Minister of the Interior and Administration met with Carl-Oskar Bohlin, Minister of Civil Defence of the Kingdom of Sweden. Deputy Minister Maciej Duszczyk also participated in the talks.

“The Republic of Poland and the Kingdom of Sweden are close strategic partners and allies in matters of security, civil protection and civil defence. Our geographical location in Central and Northern Europe, on the shores of the Baltic Sea, entails common security challenges and requires joint action,” reads the Statement signed by the Ministry of the Interior and Administration of the Republic of Poland and the Ministry of Defence of the Kingdom of Sweden in Stockholm on Wednesday, 19 February by the Minister of the Interior and Administration, Coordinator of Special Services Tomasz Siemoniak and the Minister of Civil Defence of Sweden Carl-Oskar Bohlin.

Minister Tomasz Siemoniak visited Stockholm on Wednesday, 19 February. The head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration travelled to Sweden at the invitation of the Swedish Minister of Civil Defence, Carl-Oskar Bohlin. The meeting was a follow-up to the talks that took place on 2 October 2024 in Warsaw. The discussion revolved around the challenges concerning protecting the European populace, civil defence and the need to strengthen our resilience. Deputy Ministers Maciej Duszczyk and Wiesław Leśniakiewicz also participated in the talks.

On Friday, 14 February, Minister of the Interior and Administration and Coordinator of Special Services Tomasz Siemoniak met with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Unity of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov for the second time this year. Their talks revolved around issues pertaining to the stay of Ukrainian war refugees in Poland. Deputy Minister Maciej Duszczyk also participated in the talks.

In connection with the Polish presidency in the Council of the European Union, the College of Commissioners meeting took place at the European Solidarity Centre in Gdansk on 6–7 February 2025. The Polish side was chaired by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, and the delegation of European Commissioners was led by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. The meeting was attended by Minister Tomasz Siemoniak.

“The ever-growing hybrid threats continue to show that we cannot remain reactive. We should adopt a horizontal understanding of security, encompassing all other policies in a comprehensive manner,” said Minister Tomasz Siemoniak in Brussels. The Minister of the Interior and Administration attended a meeting of the European Parliament's Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) on Thursday (6 February). Deputy Minister Maciej Duszczyk also took part in the event.

“We share the same view of Europe - we want it to be secure, we want to curb irregular migration and we want to make sure that these matters do not have a negative impact on the sense of security for our citizens,” said Minister Tomasz Siemoniak at a joint press conference with Magnus Brunner, EU Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration. The Minister of the Interior and Administration chaired an informal meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council in Warsaw on Thursday, 30 January.

On Thursday, 30 January, an informal meeting of interior ministers dedicated to EU security in the areas of migration, civil protection, and crime prevention was held at the Polish Army Museum on the grounds of the Warsaw Citadel.
