Small Rooftop Photovoltaic System with a Capacity of up to 150 kW

Steps in the investment process for implementing this system

The investment process for small rooftop photovoltaic systems with a capacity of up to 150 kW is significantly simplified and includes the following stages:

Step 1 – Obtaining grid connection conditions

Grid connection conditions are a type of document issued by the distribution or transmission system operator specifying the technical details related to connecting the photovoltaic power plant and constituting the operator’s commitment to sign a grid connection agreement with the investor, under which the system will be connected to the grid.
Connection conditions, therefore, enable a “temporary reservation of capacity in the grid” for the given project.

If the generator does not conclude a grid connection agreement within 24 months from the date of receipt of the connection conditions, the conditions expire and no longer constitute an obligation to conclude the agreement.

Detailed description of this procedure can be found in the link below:
Application for Issuance of Conditions for Connection to the Electricity Grid

Step 2 – Consultation of the installation design with a Fire Protection Expert regarding compliance with fire safety regulations (PPOŻ)

For photovoltaic devices with an installed electrical capacity not exceeding 150 kW, it is mandatory to consult a fire protection expert to ensure that the design complies with fire safety requirements.

Detailed description of this procedure can be found in the link below:
Consultation of the Installation Design with a Fire Protection Expert Regarding Compliance with Fire Safety Regulations

Step 3 – Notification to the State Fire Service (PSP) upon completion of construction

For photovoltaic systems with a capacity greater than 6.5 kW, it is also required to notify the State Fire Service upon completion of construction and intention to commence use. The authorities issue a position on the compliance of the completed building with the design. If the authority does not take a position within 14 days from the date of receipt of the notification, it is considered as no objection or comments.

Detailed description of this procedure can be found in the link below:
Notification to the State Fire Service (PSP) upon Completion of Construction

Step 4 – Entry in the register of small RES electricity generators

Entry in the register of small RES electricity generators replaces the requirement to obtain a concession decision for photovoltaic power plants with a total installed electrical capacity greater than 50 kW and not exceeding 1 MW.
