The bulletin also discusses the effects of low radiation doses and Chernobyl tourism.

14.12.2022Dr Łukasz Młynarkiewicz resigned from the office of the President of the PAADr Łukasz Młynarkiewicz submitted his resignation from office of the President of the PAA to Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. The Prime Minister accepted this resignation and recalled Dr. Młynarkiewicz from the office of the President of the PAA as of December 14, 2022.

The event was attended by American experts from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission of the United States of America (US NRC).

05.12.2022Nuclear safety priorities - International Conference for Nuclear RegulatorsMore than 10 years after the disaster of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, representatives of the nuclear sector from around the world met in Tokyo to discuss measures taken after 2011 to strengthen nuclear safety. Poland was represented by the President of the PAA, Dr Łukasz Młynarkiewicz. The President of the PAA also participated in the meeting of the Committee on Nuclear Regulatory Activities of the Nuclear Energy Agency, which was also held in the capital of Japan.

22.11.2022The IAEA does not recognize attempts by the Russian Federation to take over the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power PlantAnother resolution condemning the actions of the Russian Federation in Ukraine was adopted by the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency. In the adopted resolution, the IAEA does not recognize attempts by the Russians to take over the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant.

03.11.2022Resolution on the construction of first nuclear power plant approved by the GovernmentThe first nuclear power plant in Poland will be built on the basis of the American technology of Westinghouse Nuclear, the government decided. On Wednesday, November 2, the Council of Ministers adopted a resolution on this matter. The National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA) will supervise the safe implementation of this project.

The National Atomic Energy Agency of the Republic of Poland also monitors the radiation situation round the clock. These are only examples of PPA’s actions for nuclear safety and radiological protection, which have been a priority for the Agency for 40 years. On 17th of October 2022, the anniversary celebebrations of the National Atomic Energy Agency took place in Warsaw.
