Lebanon

Lebanon was put on the list of priority beneficiaries of Poland’s Official Development Assistance in 2018.

Prior to that, Polish humanitarian aid provided in the country was targeted at refugees and host communities.

Poland’s engagement in Lebanon also encompasses health care for Syrian refugees as well as providing them with shelter and access to basic medical and social services. Additionally, Poland seeks to finance initiatives that support entrepreneurship as well as creating new business solutions and income-generating activities for members of local cooperatives.

Polish Aid provides assistance to the country’s educational sector by building public schools and safe playgrounds as well as organising psychosocial support workshops.

It is worth mentioning that environmental protection initiatives have been undertaken that include building a sewage treatment plant or installing solar street lamps in towns in northern Lebanon.
