Senegal

Senegal was entered on the list of priority countries of Poland’s Official Development Assistance in 2016.

Polish Aid in Senegal focuses on improving the citizens’ health situation, including the quality of medical care. We implement initiatives to increase access to sanitary infrastructure and to raise public awareness about hygiene. Our activities also aim to improve teaching conditions in educational institutions and to offer better access to education. We actively support persons from groups at risk of exclusion and seek to facilitate their social integration. Polish Aid supports the development of entrepreneurship and improving professional competence of Senegalese people.

Moreover, Senegalese students can study in Poland thanks to the Stefan Banach scholarship programme (the Ignacy Łukasiewicz scholarship programme until 2020). Addressed to foreign students, among others those from African countries, the programme is overseen by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange.
