The head of government referred to the propaganda activities of the public media under the previous government, as well as to the record high salaries. He expressed his full support for the activities of Minister Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz.

    Chaired by Minister and Member of the Council of Ministers, Maciej Berk, a series of meetings on the principles and practices of conducting public consultations and providing assessment of government documents commenced at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, as permanent elements of the legislative process in a democratic state of law. The participants in the discussion emphasized that this is the first time they have ever had the opportunity to participate in such a meeting, which gives hope for a different level of cooperation and lawmaking.

    The Polish government wants Polish women to be able to decide for themselves. This is why the so-called “morning-after pill” will be available without a prescription. Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced an amendment to the law in this regard at a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. The head of government also announced the dates of local government elections. These will be held on 7 and 21 April 2024. The Prime Minister also referred to this morning's meeting with the President of Poland. The Prime Minister stressed that cooperation in the area of Poland's security is crucial and imperative.

    This year marks five years since the tragic death of the Mayor of Gdańsk, Paweł Adamowicz. The commemorations of the 5th anniversary had a special setting. The highlight of the celebrations was Saturday's rally at the site of the tragedy at the Targ Węglowy, attended by Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

    Prime Minister Donald Tusk gave his first TV interview after being sworn into government. In the conversation with the hosts, he touched on current political issues, as well as important programme solutions. The Prime Minister referred, among other things, to the election proclamations concerning restoring the rule of law, changes in the public media and regulations on abortion. At the same time, this was the Prime Minister's first interview for the three major news channels: TVP Info, TVN24 and Polsat News.

    The government will introduce a holiday from social insurance contributions for entrepreneurs and the self-employed. They will be able to enjoy the relief for one month during the year. We want to implement this new solution as early as 2024. The Council of Ministers is also working on introducing new rules for the payment of sickness benefit. The costs of the benefit will be borne by the Social Insurance Institution already from the first day of the employee's absence from work.

    A briefing by Prime Minister Donald Tusk was held at noon at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister following information on violation of our country’s airspace. The Prime Minister held a meeting with the Chief of the General Staff, the Operational Commander of the Armed Forces, attended by the Minister of National Defence, the Minister-Coordinator of Special Services and the heads of the following services: the Internal Security Agency, the Military Counterintelligence Service and the Military Intelligence Service. Prime Minister Donald Tusk also held talks with President Andrzej Duda.

    The Council of Ministers has decided to set up an interministerial team to work out a revision of the financing system of the Ecclesiastical Fund – including the principles of financing pension benefits for the clergy. Prime Minister Donald Tusk's government has also decided to prepare a new Budget-Related Act. The PLN 3 billion earmarked for public media will be used to subsidise paediatric oncology and psychiatry, treatment of rare diseases in children and treatment of oncological diseases.
