21.04.2022We appreciate the work of Polish farmers and support them when they need it. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited a farm in Załęże Duże in the Mazowieckie Voivodship. The head of the government, together with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Henryk Kowalczyk, presented the details of the governmental support for farmers, including a fertiliser subsidy scheme and favourable changes in pensions. Under the fertiliser subsidy scheme, farmers will receive nearly PLN 4 billion. It is a very important initiative. The scheme provides real support not only to Polish farmers but also to all Poles who will pay less for food. In addition, farmers will benefit from changes to their pensions. Thanks to the new rules, they will not have to give up their activities to receive the full amount of the benefit.

20.04.2022In Janów Lubelski, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki officially announced plans to increase the budget of the Railway Plus Programme. At the meeting today, the Council of Ministers will increase the funds from PLN 5.6 billion to over PLN 11 billion. Thanks to this, we will be able to implement as many as 34 projects, instead of 17, to modernise or build new railway lines. We are doubling the planned investments, what will allow us to complete more networks of passenger connection. The goal of the programme is to eliminate transport exclusion. Many rail connections will allow comfortable travel across Poland and increase the attractiveness of numerous regions of the country.

20.04.2022Two methane explosions occured at the Pniówek mine in Silesia last night, which ended tragically. Five people are dead and seven are still trapped underground. From the first moments, a team of specialists has been analysing the situation and searching for possible measures that can be taken. The head of the Polish Government took part in the team’s meeting and visited the Burn Treatment Centre to learn about the condition of the victims. This terrible tragedy shows that a miner's work is not only extremely difficult, but also very risky. Miners put themselves in danger every day for all of us.

19.04.2022Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki paid a visit to Lviv, where another Russian attack took place yesterday. He visited wounded Ukrainian soldiers and injured civilians, as well as the construction site of temporary houses for refugees who came to Lviv from the eastern part of Ukraine. The construction of the container town is carried out with the participation of the Polish government. This is another form of aid for our neighbour.

15.04.2022April 15th is International Veterans Day. We pay tribute to all soldiers, partisans and civilian members of resistance movements who fought for the freedom and independence of their states. On this occasion, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has met with representatives of veteran circles in Wrocław. As the Prime Minister emphasised, through various actions, the government expresses its gratitude to the veterans and cares for their well-being. On Good Friday, the Prime Minister has extended to the veterans his best wishes for a healthy and peaceful Easter.

14.04.2022Poland and Slovenia have become the new hosts of the 20th Volleyball Men’s World Championship. This follows the decision of the International Volleyball Federation, which took away Russia’s rights to host the Championship in March. As such, Poland will host two of the world’s largest volleyball events this year. In the autumn, Poland and the Netherlands will welcome women’s national teams competing for the world champion title. Stripping Russia of the rights to host the Championship is part of sporting sanctions against Moscow over its brutal attack on Ukraine. The FIVB’s decision to award Poland the hosting of the competition was announced by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Minister of Sport and Tourism Kamil Bortniczuk.

12.04.2022Supporting Polish families is a priority for us. We prove it through the implementation of programmes such as Family 500+ and Family Care Capital. Since 1 April, parents can take advantage of the new solution and apply for additional funds. It is even PLN 400 a month to pay for the stay of the youngest children in a nursery, children's club or with a day care provider. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited the nursery in Żabia Wola. During his visit, he talked about the measures taken to support families. The Prime Minister emphasised that the government strives to create new care centres across the country - to support parents who want to combine professional duties with family life. The nursery in Żabia Wola is the first facility of that type in the municipality. It was opened thanks to the financial support under the governmental programme Maluch+

10.04.2022Twelve years ago, a plane crash in Smolensk took the lives of all members of the Polish delegation and crew heading to the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Katyn massacre. Ninety-six people were killed, including President Lech Kaczyński and his wife Maria. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and government representatives have commemorated the victims by laying flowers and lighting candles at the monument to the late President Lech Kaczyński and at the monument to the Victims of the Smolensk Tragedy in Warsaw, among other places. The Head of Government has also visited the graves of those who died tragically in the disaster on 10 April.

09.04.2022The international situation is changing dynamically – especially now when Russia has invaded Ukraine. A powerful army and the safety of Poland and Polish nationals are becoming undisputed priorities for the government. The process of modernising and increasing the size of the Polish army and its capabilities is still in progress. Today, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited WB Electronics in Ożarów Mazowiecki. The company operates in the arms and civil sectors. It conducts research and development works in electronic technology and software. It also develops and manufactures, among others, means of military telecommunications. As the PM highlighted, with the acceleration of the armaments programme, the Polish army has been increasingly well-equipped.
