Rok 2026 ma dla Prokuratorii Generalnej Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej szczególny wymiar – przypada w nim jubileusz 20-lecia działalności Urzędu. Jubileusz ten stanowi doskonałą okazję do refleksji nad instrumentami prawnymi służącymi do rozwiązywania sporów o charakterze międzynarodowym, w tym nad rolą arbitrażu inwestycyjnego i handlowego w sporach z udziałem Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej, Skarbu Państwa oraz podmiotów państwowych.

Mając to na uwadze, Prokuratoria Generalna Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej ma przyjemność poinformować o Konferencji pt. „Przyszłość arbitrażu inwestycyjnego i handlowego: 20 lat doświadczeń państwa w obliczu nowych wyzwań. Konferencja z okazji 20-lecia Prokuratorii Generalnej Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej”, która odbędzie się 15 września 2026 r. w siedzibie Muzeum Historii Polski w Warszawie.

Konferencja poświęcona będzie w szczególności arbitrażowi inwestycyjnemu, który w ostatnich dekadach stał się jednym z ważniejszych mechanizmów rozstrzygania sporów pomiędzy państwami a inwestorami zagranicznymi. W trakcie Konferencji podejmiemy dyskusję nad najważniejszymi zagadnieniami arbitrażu oraz prawa międzynarodowego publicznego w tym zakresie, w tym nad doświadczeniami poszczególnych państw w prowadzeniu sporów arbitrażowych, zmianami zachodzącymi w międzynarodowym systemie ich rozstrzygania, a także nad rolą wyspecjalizowanych instytucji publicznych w reprezentowaniu interesów państwa.

The year 2026 holds special significance for the General Counsel to the Republic of Poland, as it marks the 20th anniversary of the institution’s establishment. This milestone provides an excellent opportunity to reflect on the legal instruments available for the resolution of international disputes, including the role of investment and commercial arbitration in disputes involving the Republic of Poland, the State Treasury, and state-owned entities.

With this in mind, the General Counsel to the Republic of Poland is pleased to announce the Conference entitled “Navigating the Future of Investment and Commercial Arbitration: 20 Years of State Perspectives and Emerging Challenges. 20th Anniversary Conference of the Office of the General Counsel to the Republic of Poland”, to be held on 15 September 2026, at the Polish History Museum in Warsaw.

The Conference will focus in particular on investment arbitration, which over recent decades has become one of the principal mechanisms for resolving disputes between states and foreign investors. During the Conference, participants will engage in discussions on the most significant issues relating to arbitration and public international law in this field, including the experiences of individual states in conducting arbitration proceedings, the ongoing transformation of the international dispute resolution system, as well as the role of specialised public institutions in representing the interests of the state.

Distinguished speakers have been invited to participate in the Conference, including leading arbitration practitioners, representatives of public administration and international institutions, as well as members of the academic community. We believe that this event will provide an important forum for the exchange of experiences and perspectives, as well as for discussion of current trends in arbitration and the future trajectory of its development.
