Ambassador Andrzej Kanthak hands over the act of granting Polish citizenship to Sister Damiana

Sister Damiana was born outside Poland, but she has known Polish since she was a child. For 27 years she has been living either in Poland or serving in the missions of the Polish Congregation abroad. While in Poland, she helped as a volunteer in a hospice and served pilgrims at the sanctuary in Rokitno. She also collaborated with the Brother Krystyn Association for Neighbour Aid, taking care materially and spiritually of addicts and their families. Sister co-organized sobriety retreats and was the main organizer of homeless pilgrimages. She provided food aid to the poor, organized collections and prepared meals.

Since 2015, she has been on a mission in South Africa. In addition to carrying out tasks in the Catholic parish and organizing help for orphaned children, the elderly and other people in need, Sister Damiana is very committed to cooperation with the Polish Union in Johannesburg. Constantly cooperating with the Polish community, she became its important member, and as she says, Poland is her second home.

Congratulations !!!
