The Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Pretoria invites you to the next consular duty in Durban which has been scheduled for 23rd and 24th of April, 2026.

Effective 16th April 2026, the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Pretoria. informs about the implementation of a new IT tool to facilitate the appointment registration process for persons submitting an application for a national visa through the online appointment registration system (www.e-konsulat.gov.pl). The new tool will include visual verification of the applicant's identity and of their identity document (video verification).

Please be informed that due to the South African and Polish public holidays the Embassy of the Republic of Poland and Consular Section in Pretoria will be closed on April 3 and April 6, 2026.

Head of the Embassy Jacek Chodorowicz, Polish Consul Robert Rusiecki, and Head of the Political and Economic Department Piotr Kruze visited Mozambique from 22 - 25 March 2026. The purpose of the visit was to meet with representatives of the Mozambican Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The delegation also participated in a Polish community meeting organized by Alberto Mabjai, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland in Maputo.

On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Pretoria participated in an event organized by the Goethe Institute in Johannesburg in cooperation with a number of diplomatic missions and cultural institutes.

The third edition of the "Disinformation Dialogue" conference took place in Cape Town on 18 February 2026. This year, for the first time, a Polish panelist Dr. Filip Bryjka, an analyst from the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM) participated in the event. The main theme of the discussion was "Countering Disinformation. Securing Local Democracy."

The premiere of Luc Albinski's play "Nobody Told Me" took place on 28 January 2026 at the "Theatre on the Square" in Johannesburg. It was a moving war drama inspired by the true story of Dr. Halina Rotstein, a Polish Jew, doctor, mother of Wanda Albinska, and grandmother of Luc Albinski. Following the performance, a panel discussion was held, with the participation of, among others, Jan Łazicki, Plenipotentiary of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Contacts with the Jewish Diaspora.

The Cape Town Holocaust & Genocide Centre and the Johannesburg Holocaust & Genocide Centre, in cooperation with UNIC Pretoria and the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, commemorated the International Holocaust Remembrance Day in South Africa. The ceremony was attended by Jan Łazicki, Plenipotentiary of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Relations with the Jewish Diaspora, and representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Pretoria.
