    On 21 June 2024, the South African Museum of Military History in Johannesburg hosted a screening of the film "Polonia" directed by Łukasz Pater, a Polish emigrant who found himself in South Africa in the 1980s. In the film, which was part of his doctoral thesis, the author showed the fate of his family against the background of events in Poland and around the world.

Six Polish companies from the agri-food sector took part in it: Vilmar, Baltiven, Bromex, Fermy Woźniak, Spiżarnia, Euro, Eurocast. Ambassador Adam Burakowski visited the Polish stand at the AfricaBig7 trade fair in Johannesburg organized by PAIH. The trade fair included very good B2B meetings.

    The Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Pretoria kindly informs that as of 1st of June, 2024, there is a change in the fee for accepting and examining an application for a national visa (type D) and for accepting and considering an application for reconsideration of an application for a national visa (appeal). This fee is effective from June 1 this year and will be 135 EUR, payable in ZAR: R2747, cash only.

The event was devoted to the latest volume of the English-language academic publication: POLIN. Studies in Polish Jewry, the subject of which this time (this is the 35th volume of this publication) are the relations between Poland and Polish Jews and the land of Israel (before 1948) and Israel (after 1948).

    Europe Day - a celebration of peace and unity - is celebrated every year in South Africa by the Member States of the European Union and the EU Delegation in Pretoria. The holiday commemorates the anniversary of the historic Schuman Declaration in 1950, in which French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman presented his vision of a new form of political cooperation in Europe that would make war between European nations unthinkable. The Schuman Plan is considered to be the nucleus of what the European Union is today.
