Polish Sports Day 2022 in Pretoria

On June 12, 2022, the annual Polish Sports Day took place at the Lynwood Tennis Club in Pretoria. After the Polish national anthem was played, Mr. Michał Gierwatowski Consul of the Republic of Poland in Pretoria opened the meeting. He gave an introductory word and wished all participants a good time.
During the Polish Sports Day, a tennis match was played between the teams of Johannesburg and Pretoria for the Polish Union Cup in Pretoria. After a fierce match and a draw, the team representing Johannesburg won the games in extra time. A bridge tournament was also held. Children's competitions included tennis, scooter races, steeplechase, target throws and chess. There was also no shortage of Polish delicacies: pierogi, bigos, borscht and donuts.
The meeting was organized by the Polish Union in Pretoria and the Polish School at the Polish Embassy in Pretoria. The event was sponsored by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Pretoria.
