This year's Global Food Forum 2026 in Brussels brought together EU decision-makers, ministers of agriculture, Members of the European Parliament, industry leaders and representatives of farmers. The talks in Warsaw were held during the visit of the Swedish delegation to Poland, related to the Swedish Food Business Days event, and they become a part of the wider context of Polish-Swedish economic cooperation as well as the dialogue on the challenges facing European agriculture.

Prospects for deepening bilateral cooperation, with particular consideration given to the possibility of increasing trade, are the major topic of talks between the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Stefan Krajewski and the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Poland Amirsaid Agzamkhodjaev.

In the event of the entry into force of the EU-Mercosur agreement, the adopted provisions are intended to enable a faster response to threats to the EU agricultural market. The Regulation specifies the circumstances under which the European Commission may initiate safeguard proceedings in response to increased imports of agricultural products from Mercosur countries.

Common Agricultural Policy, trade agreements and the enlargement of the European Union are three processes that will determine the shape of European agriculture in the coming years. During the meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Poland and France clearly confirmed their common position on the protection of producers and food security of the EU.

Minister of Agriculture Stefan Krajewski opened the Polish stand at the largest trade fair and conference event of the fruit and vegetable industry, the Fruit Logistica International Fruit and Vegetables Fair in Berlin.

Opportunities to increase trade, expert support and specific initiatives for the agri-food sector - these are the major topics of the meeting between the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Jacek Czerniak with Ambassador Nargiz Gurbanova. The talks concerned the directions of further Polish-Azerbaijani cooperation in the field of agriculture.

The European Commission's decision is to support the EU sugar sector, including Polish sugar beet growers, by increasing demand for sugar produced in the EU and reducing pressure on the prices to fall. - The temporary suspension of the sugar processing procedure is to reduce pressure on sugar producers - said Christophe Hansen, EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Food.
