"Water samples from the Odra River will be tested for 300 potential substances," - Minister of Climate and Environment Anna Moskwa said at a press conference following a meeting between the Ministers of Environment and Climate of Poland and Germany, held on 14 August 2022 in Szczecin.

“In the face of the Russian aggression in Ukraine and the global energy crisis, the international community needs to demonstrate its unique solidarity as a whole” – emphasized Minister Anna Moskwa during the international debate attended by the Executive Director of the International Energy Agency Fatih Birol, Ukrainian Minister of Energy German Galushchenko, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency David Turk, President of GAZ-SYSTEM Tomasz Stępień and Deputy President of PERN S.A. Mateusz Radecki. The meeting was held on 19 July 2022 in Warsaw.

“Welcoming Ukraine as the associated country to the IEA family gives the powerful message of solidarity and support. This will contribute to the increased energy security in our region. We also hope that this event will form a basis for establishing a framework supporting Ukraine on its way to recovery” – emphasized the Minister of Climate and Environment Anna Moskwa during the ceremony of signing the association document between Ukraine and the International Energy Agency. This event attended by the Executive Director of IEA Fatih Birol, Ukrainian Minister of Energy German Galushchenko and Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Anna Łukaszewska-Trzeciakowska was held on 19 July 2022 in Warsaw.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki appointed Anna Łukaszewska-Trzeciakowska as Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Climate and Environment. The nomination was handed in by Minister Anna Moskwa.

Minister of Climate and Environment Anna Moskwa had a discussion with the EU Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson. The meeting held on 14 July 2022 focused on the energy security issues.

Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Adam Guibourgé-Czetwertyński attended the informal meeting of the EU Environment Council held on 13 – 14 July in Prague. The meeting agenda included biodiversity, environmental effects of the war in Ukraine, adaptation to climate change and the international climate negotiations under COP27.

Cooperation in the area of energy and climate policy, energy security and current international situation associated with the Russian aggression in Ukraine were the leitmotivs of the meeting with the United States Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry held on 12 July 2022 in Warsaw and attended by Deputy Minister Adam Guibourgé-Czetwertyński, Minister Piotr Naimski, Government Plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure.

Energy security in the context of the Russian aggression against Ukraine is one of the major subjects of this year’s World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The event, held on 24-25 May 2022, was attended by the Minister of Climate and Environment, Anna Moskwa and Deputy Minister Adam Guibourgé-Czetwertyński.

„For years, our government has consistently implemented the strategy of diversifying the sources and directions of gas supplies to Poland. After almost 30 years, on 13 May 2020, we adopted a resolution on the termination of the agreement with Russia on the construction of gas pipeline systems for gas transit through the territory of the Republic of Poland and supplies of Russian gas from Russia” – said the Minister of Climate and Environment, Anna Moskwa.

As part of aid activities, the State Forests provided vehicles to foresters serving in the Ukrainian army. This fact was communicated at the briefing held on 24 May 2022 in the Tomaszów Mazowiecki Forest Inspectorate. The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment, Edward Siarka, the Acting Director General of the State Forests, Józef Kubica as well as the Ukrainian foresters led by the government representatives – the President of the State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine and the Advisor to the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources.
