04.02.2020“Thanks to the creation of the Ministry of Climate, there is a new opening for the promotion and development of the use of renewable sources in the production of energy and heat in Poland”, said the Deputy Minister of Climate Ireneusz Zyska, Government Plenipotentiary for RES, at the “RE-Source Poland” conference. The event, organised by the Polish Wind Energy Association, was held on 4 February 2020 in Warsaw.

The meeting that took place on 3 February 2020 in the Ministry of Development was also attended by Minister of Development Jadwiga Emilewicz and Deputy Minister of Climate Adam Guibourgé-Czetwertyński, as well as the French Minister for the Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire and his colleague, the Minister for Ecological and Inclusive Transition Élisabeth Borne.

15.11.2019The President of the Republic of Poland appointed ministers in the cabinet of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki on 15 November 2019. The newly established Ministry of Climate is now headed by Michał Kurtyka, and the position of Minister – member of the Council of Ministers was taken over by Michał Woś.

25.10.2019“We are helping Lithuania with air pollution monitoring in connection with the fire in Alytus. According to preliminary estimates of the Lithuanian side, approximately 2,000 tonnes of tire waste intended for recycling burned down in the fire,” said the Minister of Environment Henryk Kowalczyk during a press conference held on 25 October 2019. The meeting was also attended by the head of the National Reference Laboratory for atmospheric air quality Tomasz Frączkowski.
