On this occasion, oaks from Polish forests were planted in the Vatican Gardens as a sign of living and strong ties.

18.03.2019“Independent – new challenges” was the motto of this year’s 26th Welconomy Forum, which took place in Toruń. The special guest of this year’s forum was Minister of Environment Henryk Kowalczyk. He took part in the opening Plenary Session, as well as in the Local Government Forum, where he raised the issues of air pollution prevention and waste management development.

15.03.2019Vice-Minister of Environment Sławomir Mazurek took part in the 4th session of the United Nations Environment Assembly, which took place on the 11th – 15th of March 2019 in Nairobi. The main topic of this year’s meeting of ministers of environment of the UN member states was innovative solutions to environmental challenges, as well as sustainable consumption and production.

13.03.2019The Minister of Environment Henryk Kowalczyk attended a meeting with Norwegian Ambassador Olav Myklebust. The aim of the meeting was, among others, to discuss the possibility of accelerating the finalisation of the signing of the agreement on the “Environment, Energy, Climate Change” Operational Programme.

07.03.2019“Starting from 1 January 2019, the Institute for Environmental Protection – National Research Institute has a statutory responsibility for calculations and forecasts of air quality for the territory of Poland. This ensures the consistency of the emission data and the other input data used as a basis for modelling analyses on a regional and national scale,” said Minister of Environment Henry Kowalczyk.
