11.07.2025In the European arena, Poland advocates pragmatism and the need for specific support mechanisms for the implementation of the Union's climate policy. At the informal meeting of the EU Environment Council (ENVI), Minister Bolesta stressed the need for greater precision and pragmatism in proposed measures and legislation. Poland has also objected to the European Commission's proposed 2040 emissions reduction target.

23.06.2025Energy security is the security of citizens - we worked on ensuring this at the next Council meeting devoted to energy. The deliberations focused on key challenges for the EU's common energy policy, including the implementation of the REPowerEU plan, i.e. moving away from fuels from Russia, and strengthening energy security. Ministers also adopted Presidency conclusions setting out a framework for further integration and improved security in the energy market. The Energy Council (TTE), which took place on June 16, 2025 in Luxembourg, was chaired by the Minister for Climate and Environment, Paulina Hennig-Kloska.

16.05.2025The implementation of the EU Nature Restoration Law was the main topic of the meeting of the EU Directors-General for Nature, which took place on 13-15 May 2025 in Warsaw. Among the issues discussed were the greatest successes and challenges in implementing this law, as well as the protection of ecosystems in the context of ongoing climate change and the protection of nature under strong anthropopression.
