21.04.2026The first ever meeting of Poland-Canada High-Level Steering Group on Bilateral Cooperation was jointly hosted in Ottawa by Deputy Foreign Ministers Robert Kupiecki and Alexandre Lévêque. The talks with Canadian partners were also attended by high-level representatives of the Ministry of State Assets, the Ministry of Energy, and the Ministry of National Defence.

21.04.2026The Pilecki Institute hosted the conference "The Roots of Crimes against Humanity: Bridging the Normative Gap” on the need to adopt a coherent international convention on crimes against humanity. In his opening address, Undersecretary of State Wojciech Zajączkowski underlined that the absence of a uniform, binding convention regulating this matter is a major lacuna in the international law. He noted that modern conflicts, including the ones in Ukraine and the Middle East, show the tangible consequences of a lack of a coherent legal framework.

The meeting inaugurated a series of annual intergovernmental summits aimed at setting strategic directions of cooperation.

The distinction was awarded for the first time and the ceremony took place as part of the Polish-French Friendship Day celebrated on 20 April.

Hosted by the leaders of the United Kingdom and France, the gathering addressed the Strait of Hormuz crisis and possible mechanisms to restore freedom of navigation.
