The Council of Ministers has adopted a draft law on personal assistance for people with disabilities. This is an important step towards providing daily support to those who need it. A ground-breaking project supporting the activity and independence of thousands of people in Poland has been developed by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy.

It's now certain - from 1 January 2026, periods of running a business and performing work under commission contracts will count towards seniority. This also applies to previous years. The President of Poland has signed a bill drafted by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy.

Nearly two thousand companies and institutions took part in the recruitment process for our pilot programme to reduce working hours while maintaining remuneration. Today, we are pleased to announce the results - 90 employers will have a unique opportunity to test various forms of reduced working hours, covering a total of over 5,000 employees.

The 4th meeting of the team responsible for developing solutions to support parents experiencing pregnancy loss and the death of a child shortly after birth was held at the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy on 24 September 2025. It was devoted to perinatal care standards. The meeting was attended by the Minister, Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, and the Deputy Minister, Aleksandra Gajewska.

Internships and apprenticeships are often the first step on the career path. They allow us to gain the experience and skills we need at work. However, employers are not willing to pay for this time. We are putting an end to this. A draft bill by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy to eliminate unpaid internships has just been added to the Council of Ministers' agenda.

Yesterday, on 15 September, the recruitment of employers to participate in the pilot programme for reduced working hours with full pay has ended. Today, during a meeting at the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, the Minister Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk announced the final number of applications that have been submitted - 1,994!

The registered unemployment rate in Poland in July 2025 was 5.4 per cent. - reported the Central Statistical Office, thus confirming the estimates of the Ministry of Labour. At that time, 830,800 unemployed people were registered with the labour offices.
