Owing to the streamlined employment procedure, nearly 380 thousand of Ukrainian citizens who left their country fleeing from war found a job in Poland – The Ukrainians fill the gaps in certain sectors; many of them have higher education. The labour market has strongly benefited from their capacity – says Marlena Maląg, Minister of Family and Social Policy.

The unemployment rate for June 2022 amounted to 2.7 percent, which is the same as in the previous month – show the Eurostat data. – This value is much better than a year ago. The June unemployment year was also much below the EU average. Situation on the labour market in Poland is both stable and satisfying – says Marlena Maląg, Minister of Family and Social Policy.

Today we celebrate the 78th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Rising. During the Rising, the current seat of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy hosted the command of the 1st headquarters of the “Falcon” (Sokół) Assault Battalion of the Śródmieście Południowe Home Army Subdivision.

On 29 July this year, the Ordinance of the Minister of Family and Social Policy of 18 July 2022 on the work permits and statements of commission of work to a foreigner replacing the Ordinance of 7 December 2017 on issuing the work permits for the foreigners and entering the statement of commission of work to a foreigner into the statement register entered into force.

On 27 July this year, Minister Marlena Maląg met with José Luis Escriva, Spanish Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration in Warsaw. The meeting was dedicated to the situation on the labour market in Poland and Spain and support trends for the Ukrainian citizens.

Statistics Poland confirmed the estimates of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy. At the end of June this year, the registered unemployment rate in Poland reached 4.9 percent. This is the best outcome since 32 years.

Deputy Minister Barbara Socha presented the draft amendment of the Act on Family Support and Forster Care in Sejm. – These systemic changes are both needed and expected by the communities – said the Deputy Minister.

Combining independent living with support provided by a qualified staff is the major task of care and residential centres. – This year, we are allocating PLN 30 million for the implementation of tasks as part of the ongoing call for applications for the programme – says Paweł Wdówik, Deputy Minister of Family and Social Policy and Government Plenipotentiary for Disabled People.

The Sejm passed the Act on social economy – this is the first act comprehensively governing this subject. The new regulation will contribute to creating stable jobs in social enterprises and will increase the availability of social services.

As part of the simplified procedure, nearly 300 thousand citizens of Ukraine have already found work in Poland. – We are constantly developing support tools in the labour market of our eastern neighbours. Together with the Digital Affairs of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, we created a new portal for citizens of Ukraine looking for work.
