In order to use the new passport service, a mother or father, as well as a court-appointed legal guardian or curator of a child under 12 years of age who needs a passport or a temporary passport, must have an electronic signature - qualified, personal  or trusted signature.

The online service will allow you to apply for a passport document for children up to 12 years of age without the need to make an appointment at the consulate. Collecting a document for a child aged 5-12 will require a personal visit of the child with one parent, legal guardian or curator at the consulate (without making an appointment).

In order to be able to use the new online service from March 31, 2023 and settle your child's passport without visiting a consulate, equip yourself with a qualified, personal or trusted electronic signature. Detailed information is available on the gov.pl website .
