Ambassador Andrzej Kanthak solemnly handed over the act of granting Polish citizenship by the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, to a nun from the Congregation of the Sisters of Merciful Jesus.

The Festival of Francophonie is a great opportunity to celebrate the diversity of cultures. The Festival consists of a whole spectrum of events: from film screenings, through concerts, exhibitions, literary meetings and performances, to the international spelling bee competition. The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Pretoria joined the celebrations of the Francophone Day for the sixth time.

The call for Stefan Banach Scholarship Programme, a joint initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Science, and NAWA - Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, has just been announced! The programme offers possibility of completing second-cycle studies in a full-time mode.

On March 6, 2023, Ambassador Andrzej Kanthak met at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Pretoria with Nelson Muffuh, the newly appointed resident - UN coordinator in South Africa, who oversees all activities of United Nations agencies in this country.

KL Auschwitz was the largest of the former German Nazi concentration camps and extermination centers. Over 1.1 million men, women and children lost their lives here. Thanks to the constant efforts of former prisoners, in 1947, the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum was established on the site of the former camp complex. Today, Auschwitz is the most recognizable symbol of the Holocaust and the site of Genocide in the world.

On the occasion of the 550th anniversary of the birth of Nicolaus Copernicus, one of the greatest representatives of the Renaissance, a world-renowned astronomer and the creator of the heliocentric theory, the National Centre of Culture (NCK) is organizing an international competition for an outdoor spatial installation and invites all brave, unconventional and creative designers to participate.

On February 28, 2023, the Embassies of the Republic of Poland and Ukraine in Pretoria and the Alliance Française in Pretoria commemorated the first anniversary of Russia's aggression against Ukraine. As part of the event, the Ukrainian documentary “Roses. Movie – Cabaret” was presented. The film shows the revolution through the eyes of artists - through the eyes of women - which gives it a special perspective. The film captured the beginning of what is happening in Ukraine today - the amazing unity of the Ukrainian people against the Russian attack on Ukraine, Europe, the free world.
