07.07.2022As of 9 July this year, an easier procedure for obtaining a temporary residence permit for Belarusian citizens residing in Poland on the basis of so-called humanitarian visas will come into force. The possibility of a simplified legalisation of stay is another manifestation of Poland's special support for the Belarusian citizens, who have been experiencing repression in their country since August 2020.

22.06.2022Fundacja Dajemy Dzieciom Siłę as a partner of the project "We protect children, including unaccompanied children seeking asylum, against violence" runs support groups for foreign parents. The initiative is aimed at people using the social assistance provided by the office in the form of a cash benefit to cover their own costs of stay in the territory of Poland.

02.06.2022The Office for Foreigners starts a series of meetings aimed at providing information on the legalization of stay, international and temporary protection. The first information Saturday will be held on June 11 from 9 - 15 at the seat of the office in Warsaw at Taborowa 33.

Moreover, the document can be obtained without any changes at the seat of the office in Warsaw and Biała Podlaska.

22.04.2022Article 15z8 of the Act of March 2nd of 2020 on the special measures introduced to prevent, counteract and combat COVID-19, other infectious diseases and crisis situations was repealed on April 15th of 2022. This regulation extends the time limit for the provision of social assistance and medical care, despite the conclusion of the international protection proceedings by a final decision.

It will be open on working days between 9.00-15.00. The helpline for Ukrainian citizens and persons under temporary protection works unchanged under the current number: 47 721 75 75.

01.04.2022Foreigners who have arrived in Poland from Ukraine since February 24 this year and meet certain conditions may be granted temporary protection. The confirmation of using temporary protection is a certificate issued by the Office for Foreigners. The document can be obtained at the seat of the office in Warsaw and Biała Podlaska or by registering on-line in order to apply for a certificate.

28.03.2022On Saturday, 26 March this year The President of the Republic of Poland signed the act amending the act on assistance to citizens of Ukraine in connection with the armed conflict on the territory of that country. The new solutions entered into force on 26 March this year and apply retroactively from 24 February 2022. Foreigners who are not covered by the aforementioned Act and belong to the category of displaced persons listed in the Executive Decision of the EU Council establishing the existence of a mass influx of displaced persons from Ukraine, may benefit from temporary protection in accordance with the Act on granting protection to foreigners within the territory of the Republic of Poland.

24.03.2022Foreigners who have arrived in Poland from Ukraine since February 24 this year and meet certain conditions may be granted temporary protection. This applies to foreigners (including family members of Ukrainian citizens) who do not hold Ukrainian citizenship and are not spouses of Ukrainian citizens or members of the immediate family of a Ukrainian citizen holding a Card of the Pole. These provisions apply to persons who have resided legally in Ukraine on the basis of a valid permanent residence permit and are unable to return to their country of origin in safe conditions or have enjoyed protection in Ukraine (including family members of the latter).
