Today, Poland’s top diplomat has presented Professor Marek Safjan with the Bene Merito honorary distinction. Established in 2009, it is conferred by the Minister of Foreign Affairs in acknowledgement of services that contribute to strengthening Poland’s status in the international arena.

Headed by the MFA’s Undersecretary of State Henryka Mościcka-Dendys, the Working Party on Eliminating Irregularities in the Polish Visa System is about to conclude its assignment.

The meeting between Undersecretary of State Marek Prawda and EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue and other Western Balkan regional issues Miroslav Lajčák focused on the importance of the EU enlargement in the Western Balkans and the normalisation of Serbia–Kosovo relations.

In a conversation with Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz, Minister Radosław Sikorski called for an impartial investigation into the attack on a humanitarian convoy in Gaza in which a Polish citizen was killed.

On 2 April, Minister Radosław Sikorski met in Warsaw with New Zealand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters.

Today’s talks between Deputy Foreign Minister Marek Prawda and his Ukrainian counterpart Yevhen Perebyinis focused on military cooperation, support for Ukraine in its EU accession process, and Poland’s involvement in the reconstruction of Ukraine.

On 27 March, the head of Polish diplomacy met with Latvia’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Krišjānis Kariņš and President Edgars Rinkēvičs.

The most important topics on the agenda of today’s meeting included aid to the cultural and education sectors in Ukraine in the context of the Russian aggression, safety of journalists, and Poland’s initiatives underway at UNESCO.
