Henryk Józef Smolarz

Appointed to the position of Director General of the National Support Centre for Agriculture on 10th January 2024.

Henryk Józef Smolarz, Ph.D. Eng. – farmer and Member of the Parliament of the Republic of Poland (5th and 7th term of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland), manager with many years of experience in central and local government administration and private business. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, where he obtained a doctorate in agricultural sciences. He also completed postgraduate studies in the field of European Union law and project management at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. At the beginning of his career, he became Deputy Provincial Inspector of the Plant Health and Seed Inspection Service. He was also, among others, vice-president of the Agricultural Market Agency, president of the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund, director of the Regional Energy Centre.
