Jan Szopiński
Deputy Director General
Appointed to the position of Deputy Director General of the National Support Centre for Agriculture on 19th April 2024.
Jan Szopiński – economist, local government official and civil servant, social activist, specialist in the field of economic, spatial and social development of regions, health care and social affairs, Member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland of the 9th term.
In the years 1985-1997, director of the parliamentary office, deputy director of the organisational and legal department and director of the voivode’s office in the provincial office in Bydgoszcz. In the years 1997-1999, deputy provincial inspector of the State Trade Inspection in Bydgoszcz. Vice-Marshal of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship in the years 1999-2006, Deputy President of Bydgoszcz, councillor and deputy chairman of the Bydgoszcz City Council in the years 2010-2019.
Co-author of the regional development strategy for the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, including agricultural development and rural support programmes. He prepared and implemented regional pre-accession programmes; he co-authored the Regional Operational Programmes for the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship in the field of spatial development, investments, agriculture and social affairs. He was responsible for regional promotion; he co-organised the exhibition of food, agricultural and horticultural products at the Internationale Grüne Woche Berlin and other promotional events in Poland and European Union countries. He was an animator of the development of regional culture and the protection of regional and national heritage. In local government activities, he was also responsible for property management and geodetic matters.
He is authorised to work on supervisory boards of state treasury companies, he completed, among others, postgraduate studies in government and local government administration at the University of Bydgoszcz (currently the Kazimierz Wielki University of Bydgoszcz). He graduated from courses in communication and social information and the implementation of municipal bond issues. As a member of the 9th term of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, he worked on the Administration and Internal Affairs Committee and the Health Committee.
