On May 5, 2026, a delegation from the Japan Management Association visited KOWR’s headquarters. This organization supports the development of the Japanese economy, among other things, by organizing—for over half a century—one of the most important food trade shows in the Far East and the most significant event in Japan’s agri-food industry: Foodex Japan.

Since 2019, the National Support Centre for Agriculture has been participating in this international trade fair as part of the “Poland Tastes Good” campaign. Every year, the Polish national pavilion hosts several dozen Polish companies interested in expanding their operations into the markets of Japan and East Asia.

The Japanese delegation was led by Masami Nakamura, Director of the JMA, while KOWR was represented by Jan Szopiński, Deputy Director General of KOWR, and representatives of the Export Support Department responsible for the “Poland Tastes Good” program and cooperation with Asian countries, including the organization of trade fairs and trade missions to that region of the world.

Piotr Kondraciuk, Director of the Export Support Department, presented to the guests Poland’s extensive export offer, foreign trade results for agri-food products—including data on trade with Japan—and the role and scope of KOWR’s activities in supporting the development of international trade cooperation.

JMA representatives summarized the latest edition of the Foodex Japan trade show and shared the results of a survey conducted among trade show participants with KOWR. They emphasized the strong relations between Poland and Japan at the government level. They also discussed opportunities for further cooperation aimed at increasing the presence of Polish food products on the Japanese market.
