KOWR and Polish food producers attend WOFEX in the Philippines for the first time

From July 29 to August 1, 2026, the National Support Center for Agriculture, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, is organizing the first Polish national stand at the Philippine WOFEX (World Food Expo) in Manila. This is a response to the growing interest in Polish food in the Philippines.
Polish national stand at WOFEX 2026
The Polish agri-food industry is represented by 11 entrepreneurs at this year's WOFEX. Our companies present meat and dairy products, sweets and snacks, processed foods, and semi-finished products for the food industry to Filipino customers.
The Polish stand was officially opened on July 29, 2026, by Stefan Krajewski, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Piotr Kolada, KOWR Deputy Director General, Katarzyna Wilkowiecka, Chargé d'Affaires of the Polish Embassy in Manila, and Paweł Meyer, Chief Veterinary Officer.
The national stand hosts daily culinary demonstrations, showcasing classic Polish dishes using various types of meat, such as pork chops, beef cutlets, chicken and beef broth, barley soup with ribs, grilled pork neck, and grilled chicken breast and thighs.
WOFEX 2026 Mission
The day before the WOFEX trade fair, on July 28, 2026, the KOWR, in cooperation with the Union of Producers and Employers of the Meat Industry (UPEMI), organized a seminar and B2B discussions with Filipino importers and industry organizations for Polish companies participating in the national booth. Entrepreneurs also had the opportunity to visit three retail chains in Manila.
The seminar participants were welcomed by Katarzyna Wilkowiecka, Chargé d'Affaires of the Polish Embassy in the Republic of the Philippines. Minister Stefan Krajewski opened the event, emphasizing the importance of developing Polish food exports and economic cooperation between Poland and the Philippines. Piotr Kolada, Deputy Director General of the KOWR, presented the potential of the Polish agri-food sector.
Wiesław Różański, President of UPEMI, delivered the opening address on behalf of the meat industry. Jacek Zarzecki, Vice-Chairman of the Polish Sustainable Beef Platform, discussed the opportunities and challenges of cooperation with the Philippines in the beef sector. Przemysław Gostkiewicz, President of Sokołów S.A., discussed the pork sector.
An additional program accompanying the fair aims to increase the recognition of Polish food, develop business contacts, and support the expansion of Polish companies in the Philippine market and the ASEAN region.
WOFEX Trade Fair in Manila
Organized since 2000, WOFEX is the largest and most recognizable trade fair for the food, food service, and HoReCa sectors in the Philippines. The event provides a platform for meetings between food producers, importers, distributors, retailers, and representatives of the country's food service sector.
The event serves as an important platform for export promotion and establishing business contacts with importers and distributors operating in the Philippine market and other ASEAN (Southeast Asian) countries.
Exports of Polish agri-food products to the Philippines
The Philippines is one of the most important recipients of Polish food in this part of Asia. In recent years, the value of exports has steadily increased, reaching the highest level in the history of trade between the two countries in 2025, reaching €81.3 million. Since 2009, the value of exports to the Philippines has increased more than twelve-fold, confirming the growing importance of the Philippine market for Polish exporters.
